What attracts Finland in the summer for traveling with children
Visit Finland has 7 reasons to travel to Finland with your children.

In the “Moomin World” everything is created for children: you can play naughty everywhere, walk barefoot on sand and cobblestones, eat natural pink cotton wool, lollipops and ice cream, and you must also cuddle with the good Mummies
They are known and loved all over the world, and their blue house, the prototype of which was the lighthouse seen by Tove Jansson, has become one of the most circulated and recognizable buildings when it comes to Finland.

Guess who we are talking about? Of course, these are Moomins! The fame of the Moomins created by the famous Finnish artist and writer in 1945 has long stepped outside Finland. So, tourists come from all over the world to the town of Naantali, where a whole world of these fairy-tale characters is located on a separate very attractive and very green island.

In Muumimaailma (“Muumimaailma” or, more simply, in the “World of Moomins”) everything is created for children. You can walk everywhere, you can play naughty, walk barefoot on the sand and cobblestones, there is natural pink cotton wool, lollipops and ice cream, and you must also hug! It is with hugs that the visit to the “Moomin World” begins: at the entrance of all visitors to the park, they are greeted by the good Moomics, who are very nice to hug with both children and adults. Raster dolls are made of soft and hypoallergenic material.

In the “Moomin World”, in addition to the famous blue house, which you need to look from the attic to the basement with jam, you can see much more. So, around the island there is a beautiful path of fairy tales: walking along it, you can get into the maze of the witch, climb into the tent to Snusmumrik, find out what treasures are stored on the ship at Mumi-Papa and visit the workshop of Snork. Every day there are entertainment programs in the park, so you have to get bored.

But you will probably want to have a bite and rest: in the “Moomin World” there are about a dozen different points of public catering, when developing the menu of which the most common food allergies were taken into account. The park has several well-equipped children’s rooms connected to the toilets. You can also warm up baby food in the microwave in restaurants. If you wish, you can rent a stroller or put extra things in the storage room.

Speaking of schedule and seasons. Moomins usually sleep all winter (except for one week in late February, when the park wakes up to celebrate “Magic Winter”). Therefore, tourists usually go to the park in summer.

Take a note: in 2019, the fairy-tale park is open from June 8 to August 11 daily from 10 am to 6 pm, from August 12 to 25 – daily from 12:00 to 18:00. Ticket sales close at 5 pm.

A ticket to visit the “Moomin World” for one day when buying online costs 29 euros, in place – 31 euros. If you want to stay at the Moomins for a couple of days, then you should buy a ticket for two days: it will cost 37 and 39 euros, respectively.

If you gathered in Muumimaailma with the whole family, then a family ticket for four for buying online will cost 112 euros (on the spot – 116 euros), for five – 140 and 145 euros, for six – 168 and 174 euros, respectively. Children under 2 years old are free!

At any time of the year, you can ride a husky or reindeer team, visit a reindeer farm with a guided tour, buy designer goods and souvenirs, send a letter from the Santa Claus ’post office.
